GRAYSON STREET TOWNHOUSES
Elevation designed and delivered four high-end townhouses in Morningside, Brisbane. The setbacks and height constraints meant the townhouses needed to be a combination of two- and three-storey relatively narrow dwellings that step up with tight and steeply sloping site.
The exterior design balances our client’s desire for a modern look with Brisbane City’s Council’s traditional building character overlay. The weatherboard cladding, batten screening and neutral tones provides an attractive street frontage that complements the residential architecture in the neighbourhood.
Interior spaces are spread over three levels. From the front entry on the ground floor, a timber
staircase leads up to the contemporary open-plan living space and kitchen that open to generous decks. Full-height glazing maximises light and cross ventilation and takes advantage of the unobstructed city views. The simple lines in the living area allow the timber flooring and the contrasting tones in the kitchen cabinetwork to come to the fore. The colour palette and styling is continued in the bedrooms and bathrooms on the upper level.
