ARCARE PARKINSON

Situated on a uniquely contoured site in Brisbane’s south, Arcare Parkinson is a 100-bed aged care residence designed to foster connection, accessibility, and a sense of openness. Elevation Architecture’s design responds to the site’s significant natural fall of over 15 metres, employing extensive cut-and-fill works to create a balanced, functional platform that enhances both resident experience and operational efficiency.
The building is arranged around a series of large central courtyards, creating an interconnected network of open spaces that allow residents to move freely and safely between indoor and outdoor areas. These landscaped courtyards provide abundant natural light, promote social engagement, and establish a restorative connection to nature from every level of the facility.
Designed to align with Arcare’s Relationship-First model of care, the residence combines contemporary architecture with thoughtful detailing and high-quality finishes to deliver a home-like, welcoming environment. The result is an aged care facility that feels open, connected, and carefully integrated within its challenging site, an example of design and engineering working hand in hand to enhance daily life for residents and staff.
