Eden Academy Bardon is a boutique 64-place early learning centre located in a two-storey building that befits the traditional character of its surroundings. With weatherboards, gable-end roofs, valance battens, white picket fences and vertical joint (VJ) boards, the architecture celebrates the iconic Queenslander vernacular and the centre’s unique location. The complex and undulating site required careful consideration throughout the design development of the centre and its undercroft carpark. A number of existing native Eucalypt trees were retained throughout the site, complementing the centre’s nature-based learning environment and encouraging children’s connection with nature. We worked closely with the client and builder throughout the design and construction of Eden Academy Bardon to deliver a thoughtful and cost-effective centre.
