Windsor Health Quarter is taking shape at 182 Lutwyche Road and Victoria Street, Windsor, and Elevation Architecture is proud to have served as design architect on this integrated healthcare precinct, working alongside a collaborative team of partners to bring it to life.
From the outset, the brief called for more than a medical building. Windsor Health Quarter needed to weave together six levels of specialist healthcare services with purpose-built Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) creating a single, connected environment for clinicians, patients, residents and the wider community. Our design response centres on that connection: five levels of flexible medical and consulting space, anchored by a welcoming ground-floor hub, with a sixth level dedicated to 10 SDA apartments supported by Onsite Overnight Assistance (OOA).
Positioned just 800 metres from the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital and within easy reach of 18 licensed hospitals across Brisbane's inner north, the precinct's location was central to our planning. Every layout decision, from stretcher-compliant lifts to dual street frontage on Lutwyche Road and Victoria Street, was made to support smooth movement between healthcare providers, patients and visitors.
Community life sits at ground level, where a 900sqm hub brings together general practice, urgent care, pharmacy, pathology and allied health, alongside Andonis Café's fully licensed, alfresco dining. Upstairs, more than 5,500sqm of healthcare service space and 170+ secure car spaces support everything from consulting suites to whole-floor clinical opportunities.
A defining feature of the project is its sixth-floor partnership with Youngcare, one of Australia's leading not-for-profit organisations supporting young people with complex and permanent physical disabilities. The 10 SDA apartments were designed in close collaboration with Youngcare to ensure genuine independence, choice and connection for residents — while keeping healthcare support just a lift ride away.
None of this comes together without a genuinely collaborative delivery team. We're grateful to have worked alongside Medi Real Estate, Ray White Commercial, and the broader project partners who share the vision for what an integrated healthcare precinct can be for Brisbane's inner north.
Windsor Health Quarter is anticipated for completion in late 2028. Elevation Architecture acknowledges the Jagera and Turrbal peoples, Traditional Custodians of Meanjin (Brisbane), the land on which this project is being delivered, and pays respect to their Elders past, present and emerging.
